This position promotes healthy and safe child care by assisting with program policy development and implementation of quality health, safety, and nutrition practices in early care and education settings. This position provides coaching, training, and resources to child care directors and providers, families, and regional and statewide partners.

Idaho Association for the Education of Young Children (Idaho AEYC) invites interested applicants for the part-time (30 hours per week) independent contractor position of Literacy Outreach Specialist, to assist our organization as we work to promote quality in early care and education. Under the direction of the Ready! for Kindergarten & Read Up! – Idaho Senior Program Director, the Literacy Outreach Specialist will provide outreach to families of 3-5 year olds not currently enrolled in Head Start or a district pre-school. The specialist will provide a series of 3 literacy trainings and tools to families, for the purpose of empowering parents as their child’s first and most important teacher. This position requires a high level of community engagement and networking, as the Literacy Outreach Specialist will engage with community partners to identify and connect with families.
